Overview
Tracker Pro & Enterprise Tiers
Approval requests can be reviewed, approved or rejected from the email, from the Placement Approval Requests block on the Job and Placement records, or from Tools & Settings > Collaboration > Placement Approval Requests.
Benefits
-
Approvers can review and action requests without leaving the record they are working on.
-
All the key details are on one screen: candidate, job, dates, pay and charge rates.
-
Search and filters make it easy to find a request in a busy queue.
Where to find requests

Tools & Settings > Collaboration > Placement Approval Requests |
All requests (needs the Placement Approval Requests privilege) |
The blocks show in both Quick View and full view. In each list you can use Search, Period and Status to find a request. Search also matches the names of the people the request was sent to, even though that is not a column.
The list columns are Placement Name, Job Name, Date Submitted, Submitted By, Date Actioned, Actioned By, Status and Review.
Reviewing a request
-
Open the request from your email, the Placement or Job record, or Tools & Settings.
-
Find it using Search, Period or Status if needed.
-
Click Review.
-
Check the candidate, job, dates, pay rate, charge rate and other details.
Approving or rejecting
Approve and Reject are available to the people the request was sent to.
-
In the review window, add a comment if you want to.
-
Click Approve or Reject.
What happens next
-
Approving moves the placement to the working status chosen at submiting for approval. Where approver groups are used, this happens once the final group has cleared.
-
Rejecting leaves the placement status as it was. The submitter can fix the issue and resubmit.
-
Either way, an email goes to the person who submitted the request. It says the placement was approved or rejected, shows who actioned it and the Job Owner, and includes the reason for a rejection.
When there are several approver groups
Only a member of the group currently responsible can approve or reject. Other users, including members of earlier or later groups, can open the request to view it, but the Approve and Reject buttons are disabled.
|
Your position |
Approve / Reject |
|---|---|
|
In the group currently responsible |
Enabled |
|
In a later group whose turn has not arrived |
Disabled |
|
In an earlier group that has already cleared |

|
Not in any group on the request |
Disabled |
Any one member approving clears their group. A rejection from anyone stops the whole process.
Example scenario and tips
Example: A job owner opens a Job record and scrolls to the Placement Approval Requests block. She searches for the name of a colleague to see everything sent to him, filters Status to Pending, clicks Review on a request, checks the pay and charge rates, and approves. The consultant who submitted it receives an approval email.
Tips
-
If Approve and Reject are greyed out, check whether it is your group's turn.
-
Give a clear reason when rejecting so the submitter knows what to fix.
-
Use the Job block for an overview of every placement on a job.
