This lesson explains how to set Safe IP Addresses and how they work.
To access Security Settings, click into your name at the top, right hand corner of the screen and go to Tools & Settings. In the Security Section you will see 'Security Settings'. Click the arrow to the right of this.
Please note, if this isn't visible in your view, you will need to ask your Administrator, or Client Success Manager to add it to your User Group.
If you wish to set a specific IP Address for your Users and restrict them from logging on to TrackerRMS from anywhere other than that location (such as your office), you may add the IP address into the list below.
Click 'New' and enter the specific IP Address in both the 'From and To' fields.
The IP Address for each individual, or office, can be found in the text above the list, or a simple browser search for your IP Address can be carried out.
IP Addresses are a series of four 3 digit numbers between 000 and 255. Please enter each number as 3 digits e.g. "12.3.47.89" entered as "012.003.047.089":
To edit or delete any of the IP Addresses listed, click into the row and use the appropriate buttons on the right.
If you are happy for your Users to log on from any location, you may leave the full IP Range:
To enable Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users you should:
- First add the IP Addresses that are "safe" to the Safe IP Address Ranges list to ensure these are declared first
- Remove the generic "000.000.000.000 to 255.255.255.255" range which esentially allows ALL IP Addresses
- Go to the User Groups Settings Page in Tools & Settings
- Within the User Group Privileges section, select whether you wish for Users in that User Group to be able to register IP Addresses that are outside of the ranges in the list declared in the steps above
Allow IP Address Registration - Ticked
This will allow users to logon normally if within an IP Address already declared "safe" but if outside this IP Address range (e.g. working from home or remote) then they will be sent a unique IP Verification Code to their email inbox and asked to copy and paste this into the logon page. This will register that IP Address allowing the user to logon only from that new IP Address until it changes.
Allow IP Address Registration - Unticked
This will allow users to logon normally if within an IP Address already declared "safe" but if outside this IP Address range (e.g. working from home or remote) then they will be blocked from logging in completely.
