Often, our Custom Forms are created from existing Contracts and other Microsoft Word documents already in use.
Because Microsoft Word is a propriatory word processing format and Tracker uses pure HTML formatting, the issues with getting contracts to look the same when using cut and paste or even converting Word documents to HTML and pasting that into our Custom Form editor meant documents rarely looked the same.
To address this, we have included a new function for automatically converting Word documents to Tracker Custom Form HTML so that your existing documents can be simply passed to us and converted for you.
How to create a Web Document from a Word Document
Your existing document must be saved as a Microsoft Word (DOCX) file in order to be uploaded and converted so if you have an older (DOC) document, please first open this in Microsoft Word and re-save it in (DOCX) format.
In Tools > Web Documents, you can create a new Web Document in the same way by clicking the + button:
On clicking this button the new Web Document popup will appear as before with a new option when Starting from Word Document?:
To select your Web Document, click the Select Docx File button and choose the (DOCX) file you wish to create the form from. The filename and size will be confirm for you and the name of the file will be placed into the Web Document Name field for you to update as required.
On clicking the Save button the document will be automatically converted and presented to you in the normal Web Document editor window for you to add tags and fields to including all indentation, formatting and tables. Images however may need to be re-inserted from the Media Library as these will not be transferred.
