Help Topic: Semantics in Long List Boolean Search

We now provide a comprehensive set of semantics jobs and synonyms within the Long List Boolean Search allowing our clients to build better and more consistent searches.

Semantics as you Type

Within the Long List Boolean search fields, you can now be prompted as you type on the positions or skills you are searching for:

The semantics list will prompt you as you type for the job titles or skills you are looking to enter allowing you to build the foundation search parameters.

Semantics on the Foundation

Once you have your foundation search built, you can use the Semantics button to further expand your search.

Clicking the Semantics button located above the search fields will scan through each of the search terms looking for relevant alternatives.  If alternatives are found, these will be highlighted in green:

Items highlighted in green have alternatives and clicking the down arrow within each will show these alternatives allowing you to quickly select and include these within your search:

Each of the above terms will form a logical part of the Boolean search, equating in the example above to the following:

"Payroll administrator" AND (Sage OR "Sage Accounting" OR "Sage 50 Accounting")
