Help Topic: Messaging Candidates


Please note that Shift Management is not available for the the Starter Package

The Messaging service within Tracker provides a credit-free way to send and receive messages with Candidates.

Messages can be sent from Tracker to any Candidate with the App and will appear as a notification on their smartphone (iPhone or Android).  Messages can also be sent by any Candidate with the App and be received into Tracker.

Messages sent by Candidates are broadcast to a defined set of users within Tracker and notified by either on-screen notification and/or via email.  For example, there may be only 10 users in your team of 25 that handle temporary staff, and so only the 10 relevant users can be added to the broadcast list. 

This can be further narrowed down by department if required.  This means that Candidates with a certain Department in their Candidate record will only be broadcast to users within the broadcast group (above) that are also in the same Department.  For example, only temps within hospitality have their messages broadcast to Users in hospitality.

 

Receiving Messages

These can be adjusted within Tools & Settings > Placement Settings > App Messaging Settings

Shift Dashboard

On the Shift Dashboard, all messages received in the current day are also presented in the Messages area, accessed by clicking the Messages button:

These messages are refreshed automatically and so appear in real-time throughout the day.

 

Email Notification

If selected, an email will also be received to let Users know that a Message has been received along with the details:

 

 

Sending Messages

You can send messages to both one Candidate, or bulk send emails to many Candidates at the same time wherever you see the blue message icon:

These can be found on both the Shift Planner and Shift Dasboards.

 

Shift Planner

On the Shift Planner, ticking Candidates in the list provide the ability to send a Message via the App.  Ideal for advertsing Jobs to Candidates in person:

Sending Messages can be done from the Action menu (when selecting one or more Candidates in the list), the message icon to the right of each line in the dashboard, or the message icon in the top right of the inbound message panel on the right side of the page:

 

Messages are in text format and the history of the conversation can be clearly seen in the message popup:

When Candidates open the "Messages" page on the App, they can see the messages sent and received:
