Help Topic: Messages


Messages can be sent and received by the App are presented in date/time order, with the latest messages at the top.

 

 

Message Templates

You can setup default "Portal Message" templates in Tools & Settings > Candidate Settings > Portal Settings which will appear in the App, saving the Candidate time for the most common messages:

 

New Messages

Tapping the "New Message" button will allow the free typing of a new Message, or they can select from one of the message templates defined:

 

Messages sent by Candidates are broadcast to a defined set of users within Tracker and notified by either on-screen notification and/or via email.  For example, there may be only 10 users in your team of 25 that handle temporary staff, and so only the 10 relevant users can be added to the broadcast list. 

This can be further narrowed down by department if required.  This means that Candidates with a certain Department in their Candidate record will only be broadcast to users within the broadcast group (above) that are also in the same Department.  For example, only temps within hospitality have their messages broadcast to Users in hospitality.

 

Receiving Messages

These can be adjusted within Tools & Settings > Placement Settings > App Messaging Settings

 

On Screen Notification

 

Shift Dashboard

On the Shift Dashboard, all messages received in the current day are also presented in the Messages area, accessed by clicking the Messages button:

These messages are refreshed automatically and so appear in real-time throughout the day.

 

Email Notification

If selected, an email will also be received to let Users know that a Message has been received along with the details:
